thursday thirteen/ tmt - irish edition

The lassie is back - tired, but back! We had a fabulous holiday in Ireland. Everyone survived for the most part unscathed and with a new appreciation for many things. I for one, appreciate all the truly amazing girls that stepped in for me and wrote some awesome posts. I hope you enjoyed them and continue to check out their own blogs - they are all great! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Today will be a combo Tell Me Thursday and Thursday Thirteen. Stacy was my winner from my WW post yesterday. Check out #1 on the list.

Thirteen Things I Learned In Ireland

1.You can never pack too many snacks. Yes, that's right - we packed a whole suitcase of snacks for the kids.

2. A four year old will say anything to anyone. Grady had no qualms asking a man walking down the street with a eye patch if he had green teeth. Because of course, all pirates have green teeth.

3. Lying will only get you in trouble. I got Drake addicted to Nutella because I told him it was European peanut butter. I had to buy jars of it before we came home to support his addiction.

4. There is a time limit for tolerating family 24/7 in a small confined space. I reached mine very early on in the trip.

5. Every girl loves a boy that can sing and dance. Grady won the heart of a sales girl by busting out to Boom Boom Pow in the Dublin surf shop.

6. You can get anything you want if there is enough alcohol. I soon realized all it took was four a few Guinness to make Hubby come to the dark side and join Facebook.

7. Even a germ-a-phobe can bend the rules every once in a while. Yep, this lassie kissed the Blarney Stone. Did you know they clean it with disinfectant? Luckily they did it right before it was our turn - phew!

8. Everyone loves a foreign accent. My boys were quickly smitten with a little British lass. They spent the whole breakfast flirting with her at the Hostel. She was gorgeous and they were both vying for her attention.

9. Miracles come in every form. While we were on the ship we met the most amazing family - with. three. boys. There three boys were around our boys age AND loved Legos! The boys quickly bonded and became fast friends. Now we just have to impatiently wait for them to come back to the States.

10. There is a reason I am in the States. Lassies over there wears high heels - all. the. time. This Lassie has cursed blessed with very wide and large feet. My feet would never survive a life of heels - never!

11. Guinness does taste better in Ireland. I know, I know. A Lassie that doesn't like Guinness!? In my defense, it really does taste better over seas and I did enjoy some while I was there.

12. It shocks me the amount of laundry four people can make in two weeks AND we even did laundry while we were there. Le sigh......

13. There really is no place like home!

So now you know the real story behind my Wordless Wednesday picture. Probably more then you ever wanted to know about that picture (and my trip) but hey, what can I say?
Want to play along? Post your Wordless Wednesday photo on Wednesday, write about it on Thursday and then head on over here and link up. I can't wait to see the story behind your picture!

Kat, will you believe that I just served up some Nutella? I honestly did ;->

Oh man, anyone down in the wake of Facebook. Rob is on it, my sister, friends... I just haven't done that yet. (I really don't want to connect with old classmates. I honestly don't.)

I am so with you on the high heels. I'm 5'10 with bad balance. I've tried to walk in 2 inch heels and feel like an elephant standing on a thimble. I just can't wear them. I honestly can't ;->

We eat Nutella all the time. I have loved it since I was a wee lassie. Even Target sells it.

Glad you are all home. Still would love to make a time to visit.

Sounds like a great trip! (I didn't like Guinness, either, but did like the Irish cider!)

I saw that the news report about the very germy Blarney Stone. My husband is from Cork and we have done that several times. Ick!

Your comment is SO true about the heels. We are always there in winter. Those boots are impressive...but not me!
