A few weeks back Hubby tried to attack our lawn with a leaf blower we had had since we were first married. After taking one look at our yard the blower decided it was it's time to spontaneously combust move on. There was no way it was going to even try and tackle that mass of foilage. Hubby then declared, "Go BIG or go home!!" and came home with this:

Yes, he purchased a Giant Vac for all of our leaf and debris management. This thing is a beast and I truly began to fear for our small children (and our dog) should they ever step in front of Daddy while he was vacuuming the yard. Now, I won't lie, this thing works but it couldn't handle our backyard:
Because it wasn't BIG enough an all terrain vehicle, we had to rake this by hand. (commence cursing)
When I looked out the window yesterday and saw this same sight - AGAIN - I demanded declared a trip to Home Depot. I came back with on of these:
Isn't she pretty? What's even better?? Hubby let me USE it! I know it sounds strange, but Hubby has a thing with me and tools. I have no idea why... but he does. *ahem* So, I was more then excited when he reved her up and handed her over to me. Ooo, the power! I felt like a super hero - taking out leaves with a single swipe of my hand. Ok.... I will also admit that I did feel a little like Lara Croft and did pretend that maybe it was a blow torch instead of a leaf blower. Hey, a Lassie has to amuse herself someway! Needless to say, I got the job done in record time and without the back ache raking would have caused. Now.... I wonder what tool I can use next???

I'm impressed! Lara Croft is my hero, er, heroine!
Too funny, that totally cracked me up. I'd probably do the same thing if my husband shared his power tools (I apparently tend to break them, so I'm not allowed to play with them!).
Now *THAT* is a big raking job! I'm impressed! :)
I use the same one all the time and love it. funny my hubby has no problem letting me do any manual labor with or without power tools. Oh wait most of the tools are mine in the first place :)
Very nice!!....my husband has that same issue with me and power tools-it must be a guy thing!
I love it! You are unstoppable! ;)

I just have to laugh. Vacuuming the yard?!!! :-> And I can't believe that huge thing broke down.
You're on your way now, first step leaf blower, next step a power washer. (My Rob just lo-o-o-ves his power washer. I, well, I guess I need to get my own. That's HIS toy.)
You said it Kat. Down with manual labour, bring on the power tools! Now that's my kind of thinking!
